The increase for Biden follows a series of legislative wins for his Democratic Party, according to the pollsters.
Biden’s new job-performance number marks the first time he’s been above 40% since early June.
The first-term president’s lowest ratings of 36% – in four weekly polls in May, June and July – were similar to those of previous President Donald Trump whose popularity was as low as 33% in December 2017.
In four of the past five weeks Biden’s ratings increased as the Democratic-controlled Congress passed legislation to fight climate change, lower drug prices and increased efforts to make the United States more competitive with China’s science and technology efforts, the pollster also said.
