Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration is calling for the return of masking and social distancing to be encouraged or even mandated to tackle “long Covid.”

According to a new report from Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the controversial measures should be brought back.

The report was commissioned by HHS and produced by the research agency Coforma.

HHS is calling for a broad range of government policies to help people who continue to deal with the lingering effects of COVID-19.

Those policies include an awareness campaign, funding for long Covid support groups, financial support for students and workers, and new health benefits for Covid victims.

Reinstating a mask mandate may be the most controversial recommendation in the report.

The report argues that ending that mandate in late 2021 and 2022 is making it harder for people with long Covid.

However, it fails to address the matter that long Covid only impacts a small number of people with mild symptoms while millions would be affected by mask mandates.
